If your myenergi app shows your Eddi or Zappi as offline, but your solar system is still producing power, the problem is usually the myenergi hub's connection to your home network, not your solar system. This page explains how to tell the difference and how to reconnect your hub after a router or password change.
Your inverter will usually still show as online in its own app — this is expected. The inverter and your myenergi devices use completely separate monitoring platforms, and only one of them has dropped offline.
If your system has both an inverter and a myenergi device, you have two separate monitoring apps, and they do not talk to each other:
Your inverter app will be one of these, depending on the brand: Solis App, Ecoflow App, Sungrow App, Huawei App, Sigenergy App, Sofar App.
| App | What it monitors |
|---|---|
| Your inverter app | Inverter, solar generation, battery |
| myenergi app | Eddi (immersion diverter), Zappi (EV charger) |
If your system looks “offline”, check your inverter app first. If your inverter app confirms your inverter is generating and operating normally, your solar system is working fine — it is your myenergi hub connection that has dropped. This is the most common cause of a confusing “my system is offline” report.
These signs together tell you it is the myenergi hub that has dropped, not your solar system:
The Eddi or Zappi tiles in the myenergi app appear disconnected, or show a warning triangle, and data is no longer updating.
Opening your inverter app confirms the inverter is online and producing power. If the inverter is working, the problem is not the solar system.
Your lights, sockets, and broadband are all working — it is only the myenergi devices that have dropped off the network.
The myenergi hub connects your Eddi and Zappi to your home network, and through it to the myenergi cloud. The connection is usually lost for one of these reasons:
A new router means a new network name and password, so the hub can no longer find the network it was connected to.
If your WiFi password was changed, or the router was reset to factory settings, the hub is left with old credentials that no longer work.
A power cut can leave the hub, router, and devices starting up in the wrong order, so the connection does not come back automatically.
Work through these steps in order. In most cases a simple restart in the right order is all that is needed to bring your myenergi devices back online.
myenergi devices only work on 2.4 GHz WiFi, not 5 GHz. If your devices will not reconnect after a restart, check that your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network and that your devices are within range of it. Not sure how to check? Here is how to check your WiFi is 2.4 GHz.
If the Eddi itself will not reconnect to WiFi, rather than just the hub, follow our step-by-step Eddi WiFi reconnection guide, which walks you through connecting your phone directly to the Eddi to send it your home WiFi details.
After reconnecting, you should see the following within a minute or two:
The Eddi and Zappi tiles no longer show a warning triangle or “offline” status.
Real-time generation, hot water, and charging data begins to populate in the app as normal.
No re-registration is needed. Once the hub is connected correctly, your devices will appear automatically.
If your myenergi devices still will not reconnect after working through these steps, please get in touch with your installation team at PureVolt Solar. We can help diagnose the issue remotely and, if needed, arrange a site visit.
