We are now hiring a roofer/carpenter to join our solar installation team. If you're interested in becoming part of a growing company, we'd love to hear from you.
We have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified Roofer/Carpenter to join our East Coast solar installation team. In this role, you will be managing and carrying out solar PV installations, mostly in domestic settings.
You will be part of a growing team and will play a key role in each installation project. Through our generous bonus structure, you will have a direct stake in the success of our company and know your contributions are valued and recognised. You can view the equipment we use and the quality of our workmanship here.
The main requirement is that you must be fully qualified with a National Craft Certificate. For more information on requirements and nice-to-haves, keep reading below.
Not necessarily. Solar experience is a big advantage, but you already have the roofing/carpentry expertise. If you're motivated to learn, we can provide all the training you will need to transfer your knowledge and skills to solar PV Installations.
When a customer contacts us, we do an initial quote with details of the size of the system. We use our specialised software to look up the property on Google Maps and then design the most appropriate system to suit their circumstances and needs. We take into account the direction the property is facing, the pitch and type of roof, the client's current annual consumption, and the times they are most likely to consume the most.
Once the initial system design is approved, our head engineer then visits the site to conduct a complete survey of the property. He inspects, measures and ensures everything on the original quote will work and notes any modifications needed. This is to ensure that when you turn up, you have everything you need to complete the job and there are no surprises.
Once this is complete, a final system design is drawn up and distributed to the team, including you, with full details of exactly what is required.
Once we confirm the delivery of materials and equipment to the site, we agree an installation date with the client.
Then you, as the Dublin team roofer, will complete the first part of the project by installing the solar panels on the roof.
Once that is complete, the electricians will complete the electrical part of the project and bring the system into commission.
We're a small and friendly team who have each other's backs. We're proud of our workplace culture, and we're looking for people who can help us to build it further. Before we add anyone to our team, we always want to be sure that they share our mindset when it comes to efficiency, hard work and doing what's right for the customer.
Our office team is a mix of solar specialists on the one hand, and marketing / tech nerds on the other. Our installers are the best in the business — we only work with people who meet our high standards. The marketing guys are the reason we usually have more enquiries than we can install. The tech nerds are the reason our installers never show up to a job with the wrong parts.
As well as being the solar installer, you will also be the face of PureVolt while you are at the customer's house. Whenever we get a five-star review, it will be in large part because you maintained PureVolt's standards of tidiness, workmanship and good communication. This is what we're about.
Our people really care about what we do here. We want to help Ireland go green, and we want to help people to make the right decisions for themselves when it comes to reducing their energy bills. If you believe in solar and you care about how it benefits both the customer and the environment, we would really love to speak with you.
PureVolt was founded to make a difference, not to make a profit. That's why we're giving away all of our profits to good causes in Ireland — in the form of free solar panels. More solar panels on rooftops means less carbon emissions (this is why we exist). And if the people and organisations under those roofs are doing good for their community, well that's even better! If you know a charity who would benefit from free clean energy, please tell them about our free solar for good causes scheme.
If you think you might be interested in applying for this role, but would like to know what it is like to work for us, then please let us know. We will set things up for you to speak with one of our current employees and you can ask them anything you want, in complete confidentiality.
Location: Dublin area. There will be some travel to sites elsewhere but you will be joining a team which is focused on Dublin and East Coast installations.
Full-time role. Monday to Friday (Flexitime) - 39 hours
That is a good thing! We want to make sure you have every opportunity to assess us. Yes, we want you to be the right person for the role, but we also want to make sure you are happy that this is the right role and company for you. Please, if you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to get in touch. We would be only too happy to help.
Just email us at jobs@purevolt.ie with your questions, and we will get right back to you.
To apply, please email us a cover letter and your CV to jobs@purevolt.ie
Applications for this role will close on 20 March 2026.
We're a small team of committed people who have got each other's backs. If you care about your colleagues, care about doing a good job and care about the environment — we want you on our team. Here's a look at who you will be working with.

John started his career as a carpenter and roofer working along Ireland's west coast. With a passion for renewable energy, he was a perfect fit for PureVolt and, as soon as we heard about his skills and outlook, we asked him to join our Galway and West Ireland team as a senior roofer and panels installer.

After graduating from university, Lorcan started work in commercial construction. But he soon realised that his true passion lay in working with his hands on projects that benefit the wider community. That immediately singled him out as a perfect fit for PureVolt Solar, and we were delighted to bring him on board as an electrical apprentice.

With a background in accounting and finance, it was in the churn and change of Covid-19 that Luke discovered a hidden passion for construction and renewable energy. And it is this passion which continues to fuel him as he progresses through his apprenticeship as a valued member of the PureVolt team.

With 19 years' experience as an electrician, James first developed an interest in solar energy while working in Europe, where he saw firsthand the environmental and economic benefits of switching to renewables. Today, James is sharing his passion for clean energy in his role as senior electrician on our Galway & West Ireland team.

Despite his background in science and engineering, it was as an entrepreneur and angel investor that Phil found his passion. While switching to an electric car and solar PV electricity, he saw the appeal of a company that offers clear information in an open, honest and transparent way. That's when PureVolt Solar was born.

Although her background is in experimental physics, Eileen's true passion is centred around business, entrepreneurship, and social enterprises. As our general manager, she oversees everything to do with finance, HR, marketing and procurement.

It was from his native Chile that Gonzalo brought to Ireland his expertise in engineering and sustainable energy. If you submit an enquiry, it is Gonzalo who will propose your initial solar design. With a keen interest in the latest developments in solar tech, Gonzalo embodies our commitment to creating a greener Ireland.

Gary's carpentry skills took him as far as Canada and Australia before he returned to Ireland and repurposed his roofing skills as a solar panels installer. Today, Gary heads our installation teams both in the west and the east of Ireland.

If you go ahead with a detailed quote, it will probably be Ian who visits you. He will inspect your roof, your electrics and anything that could affect solar performance. You can expect Ian to be open, honest and transparent: if solar is not the best solution for you right now, it's Ian's job to say so.

With a background in his family's own roofing business, Nathan says a head for heights is in his DNA. But two other things are equally core to his being. The first is a passion for seeing Ireland go green. The second is dogs: if you have a friendly pooch, Nathan will be its friend for life by the time your installation is completed.
