About the position

PureVolt Solar will be seeking a fully qualified electrician to join our fast-growing solar installation team. In this role, you will be managing and carrying out solar PV installations in Domestic, Commercial & Agricultural settings.

You will be part of a fantastic team and will play a key role in each installation project. Through our generous bonus structure, you will have a direct stake in the success of our company and know your contributions are valued and recognised.

Qualifications

The main requirement is that you must be a fully qualified Electrician with the National Electrical Craft Certificate. For more information on requirements and nice to have, keep reading below.

What if I have no experience in Solar? Does that matter?

Not at all. You already have the electrical expertise. We will provide all the training you will need to transfer your knowledge and skills to solar PV Installations.

How does a solar installation work?

  • When a customer contacts us, we do an approx. quote with details of the size of the system. We use our specialised software to look up the property on google maps and then design the most appropriate system to suit their circumstances and needs. We take into account, the direction the property is facing, the pitch and type of roof, the clients current annual consumption, and the times they are most likely to consume the most.
  • Once the initial system design is approved, our head engineer then visits the site to conduct a complete survey of the property. He inspects, measures and ensures everything on the original quote will work and notes any modifications needed. This is to ensure that when you turn up, you have everything you need to complete the job and there are no surprises.
  • Once this is complete, a final system design is drawn up and distributed to the team, including you, with full details of exactly what is required.
  • Once we confirm the delivery of materials and equipment to the site, we agree an installation date with the client.
  • Our roofer completes the first part of the project by installing the solar panels on the roof.
  • Once that is complete, you, the electrician (and possibly an electrician apprentice) comes in to complete the electrical part of the project and bring the system into commission.
